Chen-Yi Liu (1999) is a Taiwanese animator and film director currently residing in Brussels, Belgium. After obtaining her BA in Animation from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2021, she has completed her master’s degree in Animation film at LUCA School of Arts(Brussels) in 2024. So far her short films had been selected in festivals such as MONSTRA Lisbon Animation Festival, Bucheon International Animation Festival and Anima - The Brussels Animation Film Festival.
 

With her traditional drawing and animation background, her recent work focuses on the possibility of disengaging the human gaze imposed on animals in conventional anthropocentric storytelling.
